Image via WikipediaWhen I was in Wales, on holiday, I was priveleged to see a number of Red Kites flying over the valleys. They are not particularly common in the part of Cornwall where I live so this was a wonderful experience and added to my enjoyment of my holiday.

Contentment
Image by jon- via FlickrSince returning from my holiday in Wales, I've had a deep sense of contentment and connection to where I live. Of course the beautiful weather has helped a lot and it is always easy to appreciate this wonderful part of Cornwall. Once again I feel blessed to live here.

Wales
Last night I arrived home late from a few days in Wales. I've been to mid-Wales, where I was based this time, before but very many years ago. I'd forgotten how beautiful it is with its mountains, rivers, streams and waterfalls. Despite the sometimes wet weather I had a lovely time but am pleased now to be back home in wonderful Cornwall.

September Sunshine
Today is really beautiful; the sun is shining and there are white fluffy clouds in the sky. It is probably nicer today than it was on many days in August. September is often a kind month to us in West Cornwall and today is no exception. I really enjoy these sunny autumn days, mentally replenishing my batteries before the coming of winter. Plenty more of this sunshine please!

Sunny September Sunday
After working quite hard in the afternoon yesterday, I drove to the beach to have a walk. I really needed to get out of the house as it was such a beautiful day and I was beginning to go a bit stir-crazy. The beach called. Once I got there I was so pleased that I'd made the effort and took photos of the sea, waves and small Sanderlings which were skittering around near the incoming tide as well as some Black Headed Gulls. It was just lovely to be out on the beach again, to see and hear the sea as well as to touch it when I got caught out by the incoming tide. Still made it safely to shore although I had to wade the last bit carrying my shoes. I felt refreshed by the experience.

Friendship
Image via WikipediaWhat a wonderful experience it is to have true friendship in our lives. People who care for our welfare and for whom we also care, as well as with whom we share aspects of our lives. I am daily grateful for the twin blessings of where I live and for my friendships.

Rainbow
On an evening recently I couldn't resist going for a walk as it was so beautiful after earlier rain. I took my camera with me and managed to take photos of amazing cloud effects as well as a rainbow. There was a completely different feeling to the cliffs and the walk as twilight signalled the closing of the day. I was lucky enough to return home before it started to rain again!

Beginning of Autumn
Image via WikipediaI think that after the last few days there can be little doubt that Autumn has begun. I have mixed feelings about Autumn. I love the colour that leaves turn before they fall off the trees but at the same time I do not enjoy the evenings becoming shorter. Sometimes in West Cornwall the weather can be sunnier and warmer in Autumn than in Summer. Let' s hope that is the case this year.

Land's End
Yesterday afternoon, I drove to Sennen Cove and walked over the cliffs to Land's End. It was a lovely walk although very windy. There were still quite a lot of tourists around. Played Grandmother's Footsteps with a Wheatear, trying to get a photograph. We ended up with a draw - I got the photo but the bird was still quite far away! Enjoyed the walk very much and ended back in Sennen Cove watching the waves break over the rocks.

Moor
Decided to head inland for my walk yesterday by way of contrast. The weather was still gorgeous and seemed to want to lure me out for a walk. Went up to the moor where I took some pictures and admired the beautiful mix of the colours of heather and gorse that was present there. It was a lovely experience.
