Breathless Expectancy

This morning as I walked
I could feel it all around
In the bright sunshine of the air
The radiance of the early flowers
The chattering and birdsong . .
Spring is on its way
Nearly there.

Sunshine, beautiful, bright sunshine!

People walking, enjoying being out
After days huddled in houses
Hiding from the rain and low mist.
Now - stretching legs, feeling the sun
Enjoying nature to the full.

Made me think

Like horse riding
And the feel of the
Wind through my hair
As I galloped over the moor.

From gravity, cocooned

It all felt kind
And healing.

Different Stages

Today in my walk to the shops I saw so many lesser celandines coming into flower, each at a different stage of development. They made a lovely, bright image on a grey and windy day.

Learning New Tricks

After buying my new mobile yesterday I've spent much of today learning how to use it, especially the touch screen and the new camera facilities which are, in fact, worse than I was led to believe, but still usable. Sometimes I feel very like Winny the Pooh - a bear with very little brain!

Libraries

I fear that I'm going to rant. I'll try not to make it too tedious. The thing is that I love books and therefore libraries. I use my local library a lot and not only for books. We have a Creative Writing Group there about once a month which has been wonderful for many of us who want to share our thoughts and work. Also other book and poetry groups use it. The staff there are wonderful. And now it's threatened with cuts. I'm so angry about it because libraries are such a valuable resource for so many people who may not be able to travel further to a larger town. I feel angry that a government and Cornwall Council would consider it necessary to close down such a lovely service and local resource to pay back debts that none of us incurred. End of rant - I'll just go and lie down now for a bit!

Choral Workshop

Today, I drove to our local town to take part in a choral workshop given by Robert Hollingworth, director of I Fagilini. We worked on a number of pieces learning new techniques for singing and having fun as well as working. I'm glad that I went.

Hot Soup

This morning, a friend and I went swimming which was great fun and good exercise. After returning home I enjoyed a mug of hot soup for all the lengths I'd swum. Very satisfying.

Spinning Workshop

Today, I went to a spinning workshop with two of my friends. We had a wonderful time although the spinning took some time to get used to. To keep the wheel spinning while feeding the wool through is really quite an art. Still we all enjoyed ourselves and are planning to go back in the future to improve our newly acquired skills. A good day all round!
