Tuesday Walk

The wind was cold
And the sky was cloudy
But it was great to walk
After days of rain and mist
And see the abundance
Of water in the streams
Flowing to the sea.

Wonder

At the joy of a new day
The sight of sunlight
Or the fall of rain
The beauty of nature
And the joy of being.

Rainyday Sunday

From grey heavy clouds
Comes mizzily rain
Washing the countryside
In pure raindrops.

Pussy Willow

Gently breaking out
Silver from brown
The tiny flowers
Of Pussy willow
Start to emerge

Bright Moments

Wind blowing
Sun shining
And a touch
Of brighter
Possibilities.

New Growth

All around
Plants are sprouting
In preparation
For spring.

Retreat

Spending some time away
Finding new friends
And new inspiration
As well as a
Whole new way
Of being
Was beautiful
And fulfilling.

Grazing

Seen today
Mid-town,
A pony grazing
In Plen-an-Gwarry
In St Just.
That's one way
To keep the
Grass down!

Nature's Blanket

Soft, light and wet
Sometimes descending
Occasionally horizonatal
The fog returns.

Searching . . .

Waiting for the words to come
Going inward, searching
For something
That will give a clue
As to what to write today .  . .

Birthday Blessings

The sight of the morning moon overhead
On a glorious sunny morning,
A chat with my lovely son
On the phone later,
Creating and chuckling,
With writing friends
Makes me feel
Truly grateful
For my life
Right now.

The waves froth and foam

The energy is peaceful
Amongst the column
Of tall trees
Naked in winter
But still
Full of majesty

I love the richness
Of musical chords
How one note
Can subtly alter
The overall sound,
Often bringing
Richness and completion
To a musical phrase.

Yellow Rose of Cornwall

Seen peering
Through twigs
On a hedge
A yellow rosebud
Coming into flower
On a Sunday
In January.

January Day

As I stand outside,
I hear the birds sing
And notice
Plants in flower.
Perhaps spring
Is not so far off?

Appreciation

It's interesting how a lack of something
Can inspire appreciation of it later.
Because of the weather I haven't
Walked much,
But today I changed that
And so appreciated
The connection with nature
That it brought!

Looking Forward

A time for dreaming
And preparation
For bringing forward
All we desire
For the new year
As the plants wait
Under the soil
For the coming
Of Spring.

Blows around the house
Rattling the letterbox
Whining on occasions
As it plays with the trees.

Between rain
And sunshine
In the midst
Of grey cloud
A rainbow
Appeared!
A symbol of
Hope in the
Future.

Just for a while
There was sunlight
In deep winter
And it shone
And brightened
Everything around.
