Yesterday evening I attended a public meeting,
by Andrew George our local MP, in Penzance about the changes that the government are proposing on the NHS. The discussion was very interesting and further reinforced my views that there were several quite fundamental flaws in the plans. At the end of the meeting when Andrew George asked who would be in favour of the the plans, there was only one person who put up his hand and one abstention while the overwhelming majority of people were totally against what the government is planning. This is to be debated in the House of Commons on Tuesday and Wednesday next week and it looks as if the government will have a lot of opposition to deal with. I certainly hope that the bill gets defeated. Hands off our NHS!
